Russian engineers optimized production of India's largest composite holding and concluded strategic agreements
Delhi – Mumbai – Chennai – Surat – Vadodara, India – In June 2023, the Composite Group team undertook a large-scale business trip across India, covering five key industrial centers of the country. During the trip, 20 meetings were held with existing and potential clients, strategic partnerships were established with leading Indian industrial holdings, and foundations were laid for long-term presence in one of the world's most dynamic composite materials markets.
Partnership with Indian Industry Leaders
In Delhi, a meeting was held at the head office of GRIL – India's largest infrastructure construction company, following which the parties agreed on developing cooperation. The team also visited the site for placing ordered production lines and conducted technical consultations with clients already implementing contracts with Composite Group.
In Mumbai, company representatives visited the residence of Mukesh Ambani – one of India's most influential businessmen and head of Reliance Industries, and planned a visit to the holding's production facility in Vadodara. Business connections were established with the Chief Technology Officer of Owens Corning India – a global leader in fiberglass materials production.
Scientific and Financial Cooperation
In Chennai, the team visited the CSIR Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) – India's leading government research organization in construction technology. The meeting opened prospects for scientific and technical cooperation and validation of Composite Group's composite solutions in accordance with Indian standards. At Indian Bank, negotiations were held with the manager regarding organizing cross-border payments in various currencies, critically important for developing export operations.
In Surat, the site for constructing a client's factory was inspected as part of a previously signed contract. An agreement was concluded with a consulting company to establish Composite Group's legal entity in India, which will be an important step toward business localization.
Technological Breakthrough at Reliance Industries Facility
The key event of the trip was a visit to Vadodara to Reliance Industries' largest production facility, uniting four plants manufacturing composites for various purposes – from construction materials to wind turbine blades and railway cars using glass and carbon fiber. A detailed tour of all production workshops was organized for the Composite Group team.
During the visit to the carbon fiber products manufacturing workshop, Composite Group specialists identified design defects in equipment that led to regular breakdowns and production stoppages. Russian engineers proposed a technical solution eliminating the problem, which was gratefully accepted and implemented by Reliance management. This case demonstrated the high expertise of the Russian team and strengthened trust from Indian partners.
Following the visit, a strategic meeting was held with Reliance Industries' top management. The parties outlined mutual interests and mapped out a roadmap for cooperation development, including equipment supplies, technology exchange, and possible joint projects.
